The GIANT milk bottle on North Beach has stood as a local landmark for nearly a century. Originally built in the 1930s to advertise Grisham’s Milk, the 15-foot-tall concrete bottle once housed a tiny shop selling ice cream on the spot. It was moved to North Beach in 1937 when Grisham expanded his main plant, landing on land owned by Beatrice Anderson, who operated a trailer park there.
Over the decades, the bottle survived multiple hurricanes, including Carla and Celia. In the 1950s, Anderson sold the property—bottle and all—to Tony and Sarah Halder, who continued running the North Beach RV Park. Sarah maintained it until her passing in 2008. Her daughter, Donna Bodine, then took over, followed by her son, Brian. Thanks to them, this piece of Corpus Christi history still stands strong by the bay.
